And all of ye are keen for animation and filmmaking. Excellent!

What do you like doing? Computer 2D animation? Flash? 3D animation? Claymation®? Hand-drawn animation? Short films? What?

Let's see what sort of folks are hanging around in these parts.

I'll start with myself...

Most of the animation I've done is pretty simple cut-out type animation, 2D stuff. I use Premiere and After Effects. Never used Flash -- tried once and it just didn't click with me. Don't know why. Did a whole 2D animated feature using, basically, detailed cutouts. Lots of fun. Also like making short movies, usually allegories and such, or just strange ideas that come to me. Also run a workshop every year up in Seattle called "Let's Make a Movie!" where everybody who shows up to the workshop participates and we make a movie in a ridiculously short amount of time. Been doing that for seven or eight years. Most of those are comedies or parodies, because that's the sort of thing people like making.

What do YOU like doing? Next! 8)

I first got into serious animation with Flash and made several short flash cartoons. Then I advanced into more complex 2D computer animation with After Effects. I'm also learning a lot of 3D that I incorporate into my 2D animations. Now, I animate and create graphics for TV shows for my job. Most of my recent work is on my site: www.spinningblade.com

Cool! What kind of graphics? The interstitials, or stuff that's integrated within the shows proper, like effects work?

Pretty much the basic things a tv network would need. Title sequences to shows. Looping animated backgrounds where the hosts would stand in front of. Lower-third banners (the bar that appears at the bottom of the screen that usually has a person's name and job title). I've also made station IDs (3 -5 second animations that end with the channels logo - i.e. the "you're watching CBS" screen)

Don't do a lot of special effects stuff or character animation, just motion graphic design. (but I try to do the other two in my free time - aka your zombie film)

Ah, the bane -- yet a pleasurable bane -- of my existence. 8)

I've always wondered what those few-second things were called. I figured they would be called "stings".

Who else? 343 other members! What kind of animation/filmmaking do people like doing?
